Philosophy

Through Blinn’s Philosophy Program, you learn an array of transferable skills that lead to rewarding, high-demand careers. With its emphasis on critical thinking, logic, and problem solving, a philosophy degree is excellent preparation for a career in medicine, law, social work, business, religious leadership, or writing. Our students transfer to some of the state’s leading bachelor’s degree programs, including Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, and more.

Registration opens soon for May, Summer, and Fall classes!

Registration for May minimester and summer classes opens for all students at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 1st. Registration for fall classes opens at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 3rd. For assistance, contact Academic Advising or call Enrollment Services at 979-830-4800. You also can schedule a tour of any of our six campuses!

This degree can be completed online and on the Brenham, Bryan, RELLIS, Schulenburg, and Sealy campuses.

Blinn philosophy students transfer to universities across the state, including Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, and more.  Speak to an academic advisor at your university of choice to see how Blinn credits will apply toward your specific degree plan.

With an AA in Philosophy, you gain skills that can lead to a variety of career paths, including writing and communication, law and legal services, education, non-profit and advocacy, business and management, government and public administration, and research and analysis. Higher levels of education and specialization may be necessary to advance in certain fields.
