Perkins Grant Office

The Perkins Grant Office is funded by the federal Carl D. Perkins Basic Grant. Funding is provided for community colleges with resources to develop and maintain programs that serve faculty, staff, and students in career and technical education programs.

At Blinn College, Perkins Grant funds provide support in a variety of ways:

  • Financial assistance to help defray the cost of textbooks is available in limited amounts to qualifying Applied Sciences students.
  • Skills development workshops covering a variety of personal and academic topics are offered to students each semester.
  • Interactive and engaging recruitment presentations and activities for prospective students within the College's service area.
  • Current student advising and career guidance provided through the Perkins Facilitators.
  • Facilitate partnerships with community and business organizations to further the economic development of the Blinn service area and improve Applied Sciences Program offerings.
