Keeping Your Aid

If you have been awarded financial aid, there are a few things to keep in mind about maintaining your eligibility. In order to maintain your eligibility, keep in mind the following:

  1. You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  2. Be advised that there are consequences to failing and/or withdrawing from the entire semester

The Financial Aid Office reviews your SAP at the end of the Spring once grades are posted. If the student meets all SAP requirements, they remain eligible to receive financial aid until the next evaluation period. If you do not meet the requirements for SAP, you have the right to appeal and provide information about extenuating circumstances that may have hindered your progress.

The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) mandates that students who withdraw from all classes and/or fail to complete all courses with a passing grade may be subject to a process called Return of Title IV (R2T4). The R2T4 process will determine the amount of aid the student was eligible to receive and the amount of aid required to be returned to the DOE.
