Early Childhood Education
If you love children and are committed to helping them grow and develop in the best environment possible, then you will find a career in the childcare profession rewarding. Graduates of our Early Childhood Education Program are qualified to enter positions as teachers in public and private childcare facilities and other early childhood programs. With these skills in hand, our students transfer to some of the state’s leading bachelor’s degree programs, including Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, Texas Woman’s University, Stephen F. Austin State, Texas State, and more.
Degree and Certificate Plans
This program prepares students to be caring, competent early childhood professionals who are ready to face the challenges and rewards of working with young children.
Blinn Early Childhood Education Instructor Tami Glenn has been a kindergarten teacher at Anson Jones Elementary for 12 years
“Growing up I always wanted to work with and help kids, but I wanted to be a pediatric cardiovascular surgeon,” said Glenn. “I babysat and worked at church nurseries, but I swore I was never going to be a teacher even though it was essentially my calling.”
