The Blinn College District celebrated the accomplishments of 575 graduates Thursday, Dec. 15, during its 146 th commencement ceremony at the Brazos County Expo Center.

The fall 2022 graduating class earned 203 Associate of Arts degrees, 152 Associate of Science degrees, 106 Associate of Applied Science degrees, and 113 certificates and occupational skills awards.

Speaking on behalf of the graduating class were Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing graduate Paige Friendshuh and Associate of Applied Science Degree in Legal Assistant (Paralegal) graduate Sarah LeAnn Lennie-Bachmeyer.

Friendshuh, who holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University, already has accepted a position with St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital’s intensive care unit in Bryan and aspires to become a nurse anesthetist.

Lennie-Bachmeyer already has obtained a paralegal position with the prestigious firm of Rodgers, Miller, & Rodriguez.

“To me, this isn’t just an Associate of Applied Science degree or a legal degree. This isn’t just community college, although I will say it is the best community college in the State of Texas. This isn’t just a piece of paper to be hung on a wall,” Lennie-Bachmeyer said. “This is failure and triumph. This is pain and joy. … This is new friends and new experiences. This is success.”

Registration is now available for Blinn’s winter minimester and spring semester. Registration for the winter minimester is open through Sunday, Dec. 18, and classes begin Monday, Dec. 19. All winter minimester courses are available online, allowing students to complete their coursework while enjoying the holidays.
