The Blinn College District will host singer and actress Lisa McClowry as she portrays the goddess of pop herself, Cher, in “The Beat Goes On,” a one-woman, Broadway-style stage show at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center in Brenham on Thursday, Jan. 18.

Tickets for the 7 p.m. performance are $40 and available at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice or by calling 979-830-4024. The O’Donnell Center is located at 600 Blinn Boulevard on the Blinn College-Brenham Campus.

In this international touring show, McClowry recreates Cher’s entire career, from her singing and speaking voice to the walk, talk, costumes, makeup, and mannerisms. The show features a live band, video, multiple costume changes, dynamic dialogue, humor, and fun audience participation. Audiences will enjoy hearing all of Cher’s biggest hits, including “I Got You Babe,” “Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” “Woman’s World,” “Believe,” and more!

Throughout its tour, “The Beat Goes On” has been met with incredible reviews, sell-outs, and standing ovations.

Audience members who have recently visited Las Vegas may have seen McClowry in the cast of “Legendary Divas” at the Tropicana on the Las Vegas Strip, where she performed as Cher six nights a week in an all-female lineup. McClowry is a life-long singer and entertainer with over 30 years in the entertainment industry. Her original music can be heard on the radio today, including her newly released single, “I Will Love You Forever,” co-written and recorded with Carl Giammarese of The Buckinghams.

“The Beat Goes On” marks the third performance in this season’s Performing Arts Series at the O’Donnell, following magician Mike Super and the Hit Men of Country. The 2023-24 season will conclude with “Music of the Knights” on Friday, Feb. 16.
