Navigators is a student-centered program in which volunteer faculty and staff support students in achieving their educational and personal goals. Navigators assure that students have a plan for success at Blinn College and beyond and connect students to the resources they need to succeed.

FAQs

Who are Navigators?

Navigators are specially trained full-time faculty and staff members who have volunteered to work with students, frequently one-on-one and sometimes in small groups. They are committed to the success of students assigned to them.

What does a Navigator do?

Navigators connect students to services they might need throughout the College, including advising, Financial Aid, tutoring, counselling, library resources, and similar support services. A Navigator can help you explore career and transfer options and provide study tips to help you improve your grades. Navigators are here to make sure Blinn students succeed.

How can students get a Navigator?

Students can request a Navigator by sending an email request to navigators@blinn.edu. Some students who are struggling academically or have aged out of the foster care system are automatically assigned a Navigator.

How are Navigators assigned?

Navigators are assigned based on the student’s home campus, and to the extent possible, by major. If you are a Distance Learning student, you’ll be assigned to a faculty member who teaches online.
