Dental Hygiene Program

Prerequisite and Required General Academic Courses

The following are prerequisite courses, or courses that must be completed before the start of the Dental Hygiene Program.

  • CHEM 1405 - Introductory Chemistry
  • OR
  • CHEM 1411 - General Chemistry I
  • BIOL 2401 - Anatomy and Physiology I
  • BIOL 2402 - Anatomy and Physiology II
  • ENGL 1301 Composition and Rhetoric

The following are corequisite courses, or courses that can be taken during the Dental Hygiene Program. (Although these courses can be taken after acceptance, it is always advisable to complete these courses before making application to the Dental Hygiene Program. )

  • BIOL 2421 or BIOL 2420 - Microbiology
  • PSYC 2319 - Social Psychology
  • PHIL 2306 – Introduction to Ethics
  • SPCH 1311 Introduction to Speech Communication
  • OR
  • SPCH 1315 Public Speaking
  • OR
  • SPCH 1321 Business and Professional Communication
