More than a dozen law enforcement agencies to participate in emergency response exercise at Blinn College-Bryan Campus

The Blinn College District Police Department is partnering with national, state, and local law enforcement agencies to conduct an emergency response exercise at the Blinn College-Bryan Campus on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Approximately 200 first responders will participate in the exercise, including personnel from the Blinn Police Department, Bryan and College Station police and fire departments, Brazos County Sherriff’s Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Emergency Management, FBI, Texas A&M University Police Department, Brazos County Emergency Management, Texas A&M University Emergency Management, Brazos County 9-1-1, Brazos County Health Department, City of Bryan Emergency Management, the City of Bryan Fire Marshalls, Brazos Valley Council of Governments, Baylor Scott & White, St. Joseph Hospital, and Washington County Emergency Management.
Set-up for the exercise will begin at 7 a.m. and emergency response vehicles and personnel will be on campus throughout the day. As part of the exercise, emergency responders will participate in simulations that will include the firing of blanks. Officials ask that individuals who do not have College business and are not associated with the exercise avoid the area that day.
"This event is part of our continuing effort to improve our interagency collaboration and to improve campus safety," Assistant Chief of Police and Emergency Management Director Jennifer Taylor said. "This exercise will help us ensure a coordinated and effective response to any crisis that could occur on campus."
