April 26, 2019

The Blinn College District Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are partnering to offer a free disaster recovery and preparedness workshop for small businesses Thursday, May 16, at the Blinn College-Sealy Campus.

For business owners, being prepared for a disaster is the key to recovering quickly. This workshop offers tips, tools, and resources to help businesses and communities rebound quickly and get back to business. The SBA will discuss how to access its Disaster Loan Program and American Red will discuss the Ready Rating Program. Other topics include emergency capital sources, how to secure business technology assets, and local emergency services. Light refreshments will be provided.

The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. until noon at the Blinn-Sealy Campus, located at 3701 Outlet Center Drive, Suite 250. To register, visit https://disasterworkshopsealy.eventbrite.com.

In addition to the Blinn SBDC and the SBA, the workshop has been made possible by the Sealy Chamber of Commerce, Sealy Economic Development Corporation, and Lone Star Bank.

The Blinn College SBDC is a business advising and training center of the University of Houston Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network serving 32 counties in Southeast Texas. The SBDC program is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
