The Blinn College Alumni and Friends Association invites the community to learn more about its upcoming fall trip to New England at an informational meeting that will be hosted at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Blinn College-Brenham Campus Student Center (map).

The “Colors of New England” tour will take place Sept. 28 through Oct. 5. Visitors will be charmed by the spirit of New England on a tour that takes participants from the heart of historic Boston to the farms, coast, and mountains of the north. Guests tour historic Boston during a two-night stay in the heart of the city, then explore a quintessential New England village in Woodstock, Vermont.

Guests can see apples turned into cider at Cold Hollow Cider Mill, learn about the maple sugaring industry on a farm tour of the Rocks Estate, and admire the views during a cruise along Lake Winnipesaukee. The trip includes a traditional New England lobster dinner, and visits to Maine’s seaside communities of Portland and Kennebunkport.

The tour is $5,149 per person for a single-occupancy traveler, $3,749 per person for a double-occupancy traveler, and $3,699 per person for a triple-occupancy traveler.

For trip reservations, contact LeAnne Risgby at Cricket Cruise & Travel at 979-836-6600 or cricketcruiseandtravel@gmail.com. Brochures providing more information can be picked up at the Whigham House, located at 704 College Avenue in Brenham, or at Saturday’s travel presentation.

This is the Alumni and Friends Association’s third annual trip after previous visits to New York City and Italy.

The Blinn Alumni and Friends Association maintains contact with former students; encourages support for and participation in the College’s educational, cultural, athletic and social programs; encourages student recruitment, and assists the College in achieving its goals and objectives.
