After 135 years, the Blinn College District continues to reach new heights.

As of the 12th class day, a College-record 19,581 students registered for the Fall 2018 semester, a 3.4 percent increase over its Fall 2017 census-date enrollment of 18,931. Blinn’s total enrollment includes 1,515 students enrolled in Blinn’s inaugural semester at the RELLIS Campus and 2,737 students at the Brenham Campus, which experienced a 16.8 percent enrollment increase over last Fall.

The Bryan Campus enrolled 10,170, while online enrollment increased 17 percent to 2,307. Schulenburg Campus enrollment held steady with 162 students, while Sealy Campus enrollment increased 10.3 percent to 128 students. High School dual credit enrollment increased 3.2 percent to 1,993 students.

Blinn contact hours increased 2.6 percent to 3,560,848.

“This Fall’s enrollment is a reflection of the incredible work taking place across the Blinn College District, both inside and outside the classroom,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, Chancellor of the Blinn College District. “Students have many choices when it comes to their education, but they choose Blinn because of our caring faculty, our academic excellence, and our commitment to providing first-class facilities that encourage collaborative, hands-on learning.”

In the past 13 months, Blinn has opened the Technical Education Annex at the A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center; the Kruse Center, a new Brenham Campus recreation and activities center; Mill Creek Hall, a 464-bed student residence Hall on the Brenham Campus; and the Walter C. Schwartz Building, an 83,000-square-foot academic facility at the RELLIS Campus in Bryan.

Blinn’s academic transfer rate of 36.9 percent ranks second in the state and far exceeds the statewide average of 20.9 percent. In addition to transfer agreements with the state’s leading four-year universities, Blinn is home to pioneering co-enrollment programs such as the Texas A&M-Blinn TEAM Program and the Texas A&M Engineering Academies at Blinn.

Through the RELLIS Academic Alliance, students have the opportunity to complete their foundational coursework at the Schwartz Building and seamlessly transfer to several Texas A&M University System universities, including Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Prairie View A&M University, Tarleton State University, West Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Texas A&M University-Kingsville and Texas A&M University-Central Texas, also located onsite.

According to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s, out-of-district Blinn students who enroll in 30 credit hours during the 2018-19 academic year save 42 percent in tuition and fees compared to students at public universities across the state. In addition to Blinn’s low tuition and fees, the Blinn Foundation offers 201 endowed scholarships available to incoming and returning students from a wide range of backgrounds, majors, and experiences.

Registration remains open for Blinn’s Fall 12- and 8-week courses. The Fall 12-week session begins Monday, Sept. 24, and second 8-week courses begin Wednesday, Oct. 17. For enrollment information and to learn about financial aid opportunities, visit:
