Blinn College District launches redesigned website spotlighting student success
New-look site includes easier navigation and more information regarding College programs
September 18, 2018
The Blinn College District has announced the launch of a new-look website designed to enhance the College’s ability to attract new students while describing the incredible accomplishments of its faculty, students, and programs.
The website, located at www.blinn.edu, was designed with prospective students and community members in mind, and is both desktop and mobile friendly. At the site, current and prospective students can register for courses and learn more about Blinn’s renowned academic transfer and career training programs. The site also includes information about the College’s campuses in Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg, and Sealy, online offerings, and partnership with The Texas A&M University System at the RELLIS Campus.
“This new website makes a compelling first impression for students and parents, and reflects the quality and diversity of the programs we offer,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, Chancellor. “As students across the State of Texas seek high-quality degree and certificate programs at an affordable cost, this site will provide all the information they need to select the best degree program for their educational and career goals.”
The new site includes dynamic photos, easier navigation, videos and social media tools, robust program descriptions, and information regarding career pathways. The site also includes new interactive maps of Blinn’s Brenham and Bryan campuses, allowing prospective students to learn about the campuses prior to scheduling a visit.
Blinn has articulation agreements with 39 four-year institutions, and its academic transfer rate regularly ranks among the highest in the state and nation. According to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), Blinn’s academic transfer rate of 34.2 percent ranks second in the state and far exceeds the statewide average of 21.1 percent.
According to the THECB’s CollegeForAllTexans.com, Blinn students taking 30 credit hours during the 2017-18 academic year will save $3,717, or 42 percent, compared to state residents at the average Texas public university.
In addition to Blinn’s low tuition and fees, the Blinn Foundation offers more than 200 endowed scholarships available to incoming and returning students from a wide range of backgrounds, majors, and experiences. Blinn students and prospective students also can register for external scholarships and participate in grant programs.
Registration is currently available for Fall 12- and 8-week classes. The 12-week session begins Monday, Sept. 24, and the second 8-week session begins Wednesday, Oct. 17. For enrollment or financial aid information, visit www.blinn.edu.
