The Blinn College Alumni & Friends Association invites fellow travelers to join former Blinn College students and community members on an eight-day trip to Tuscany and the Italian Riviera this fall.
The Sept. 28-Oct. 5 trip includes round-trip airfare, a three-night stay at Hotel Paggeria Medicea/Borgo di Artimino in Tuscany, a three-night stay at Grande Albergo Sestri Levante in the Italian Riviera, 10 meals, and seven days of excursions and tours.
“This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for members of the Alumni & Friends Association and other friends of Blinn College to explore central Italy and the incredible art, food, and history that have made that region famous,” said Dr. Kyle Merten, Alumni Relations Director.
Following an overnight flight, the journey will begin with a three-night stay at a traditional Tuscany Estate. While there, travelers will enjoy an interactive pasta-making demonstration with an on-site chef, a Tuscan dinner paired with wines, tours of Florence and Siena, a Tuscan winery, and dinner while being serenaded by a local musician.
Travelers will enjoy a three-night stay in the Riviera, where they will take a tour of the medieval city of Lucca showcasing the Cathedral of San Martino and the Piazza Napoleone, and spend time in the Republic of Pisa, featuring the Piazza Dei Miracoli, the Duomo, and the Leaning Tower. While at the Italian Riviera, they will travel by train and boat to explore the colorful cliff-side villages of the Cinque Terre with a local guide, and the following day travel to the seaside resort of Santa Margherita Ligure, travel by boat to explore Portofino, and cap off the journey with a farewell dinner.
The trip is $3,749 per person for a single-occupancy traveler, $3,499 per person for a double-occupancy traveler, and $3,469 per person for a triple-occupancy traveler for those registering before March 29. Travelers receive an additional $50 off if they register on or before Thursday, Jan. 18.
A special travel presentation will be held Jan. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the Blinn College-Brenham Student Center. Those interested in attending the information session may RVSP to Merten at 979-830-4495.
