Available on the Blinn-Brenham and Blinn-Bryan campuses as well as online, Texas History is a 3-credit hour course covering the political, social, economic, cultural, and intellectual history of Texas from the pre-Columbian era to the present. Themes include Spanish colonization and Spanish Texas; Texas under the Mexican government; the Republic of Texas; statehood and secession; oil, industrialization, and urbanization; civil rights; and modern Texas.

Alongside HIST 1301: U.S. History I and HIST 1302: U.S. History II, Texas History is one of three history courses approved as part of the core curriculum. Students who successfully complete the course earn three of the six history credits required for a degree.

Courses currently are available at 7:45 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:25 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 2:50 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
