Blinn College continues to monitor the impact of Hurricane Harvey on its service area and the State of Texas, and will make an announcement by 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, regarding its campus operations for Monday, Aug. 28.
Student safety remains the College’s top priority. Blinn’s emergency management team met this afternoon to consider all information available, with the goal of making a decision regarding campus operations as soon as possible. However, based on the information available at that time, College officials determined that they would make a final decision regarding Monday operations on Sunday. Blinn remains in contact with local school districts and Texas A&M University, and will continue to assess the situation in partnership with university, ISD, and government entities.
Blinn’s emergency management team will meet again Sunday to make a decision regarding Monday campus operations. Students and employees should use their own best judgment regarding travel, and follow the guidelines from their state and local officials. Blinn will take personal travel situations into account when campuses re-open.
Blinn College encourages all students and employees to visit www.blinn.edu/alert and register for the Blinn Alert system. This system allows the College to rapidly communicate important, campus-related emergency notifications via text and email. For updates, visit www.blinn.edu
