Blinn-Bryan art exhibit to fund student scholarships
Fundraising event will feature photos, printed digital art, paintings, ceramics, and jewelry available for purchase

May 3, 2017
Blinn College visual arts students and faculty will put their wares on display and raise money for student scholarships at the second annual Visual Arts Scholarship Fundraiser and Art Exhibit opening from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 4, in the Blinn-Bryan Campus Student Center.
The fundraiser will continue through Thursday, May 11, and will feature photos, printed digital art, paintings, ceramics, jewelry and drawings.
Much of the art to be displayed has been donated to fund art scholarships for students at the Blinn-Bryan Campus. Organizers hope to raise enough funds to establish 10 endowed scholarships. Other art will be marked as display only or for sale by the artist.
Blinn’s Visual Arts Department offers students the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the creative process through lecture- and studio-based classes. Art appreciation and history classes delve into examination of the creative form through the ages, while Blinn’s hands-on courses allow students to learn the fundamentals, elements and principles of creating art in both traditional and digital mediums.
The department is part of Blinn’s Division of Visual/Performing Arts & Kinesiology, which offers programs in arts, architecture, communication studies, kinesiology, music and theatre arts.
Registration for Blinn’s May Minimester, Summer I and II, and Fall 2017 semester is now open for all students. For enrollment information and to learn about financial aid opportunities, visit: www.blinn.edu.
