Carol Doersom, client coordinator and marketing specialist, was congratulated on her recent retirement and thanked for her 12 years of service to the SBDC.

In 2015, the Blinn College SBDC helped 270 clients start 12 new businesses, create 74 new jobs and obtain over $1.4 million in business loans.

"Not only did our consultants help us with feasibility, projections and financing, but they continue to provide marketing help and education,” said Robyn Wall, owner of ProServe Automotive in Brenham.

Across the country, SBDCs advise clients and guide them through the start and growth of their business, assisting in business plan development, accessing capital and identifying market opportunities. There are nearly 1,000 SBDC locations in the United States that combine to serve more than one million small businesses each year.

The SBDC at Blinn College is a business consulting and training center that is part of the Texas Gulf Coast Small Business Development Center Network, which serves 32 counties in Southeast Texas. The center provides free one-on-one consulting and low-cost training seminars.
