Blinn institutional research staff selected to lead statewide professional association

Joe Baumann, Amanda Clark elected to officer positions for Texas Association for Institutional Research

Joe BaumannTwo Blinn College staff have been named to the executive committee of a statewide institutional research organization.

At the recent Texas Association for Institutional Research (TAIR) conference in San Antonio, Blinn College Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Enrollment Management Joe Baumann was elected 2016-17 vice president. Amanda Clark, director of institutional research, was elected secretary.

TAIR is a professional, nonprofit organization that supports institutional research, planning, evaluation and policy analysis across the state’s institutions of higher education. It provides professional development opportunities through its annual conference, workshops and other events held throughout the year, and promotes information exchange through its newsletter, electronic mail list serve and webpage.

Amanda ClarkBaumann will serve a three-year term—one year each as vice president, president and past president. His duties include organizing the 2017 annual conference and co-leading executive council activities.

Clark, a TAIR member since 2009, will serve as secretary for two years. Her responsibilities will include taking minutes at annual board meetings and quarterly executive meetings, and overseeing registration for the conference and workshops.

“TAIR provides a great opportunity to get to know more people in the institutional research profession across the state,” Baumann said. “It’s also an opportunity to show others all the amazing things that are going on here at Blinn. I am honored to have been elected vice president and I’m excited to serve on the executive committee alongside a highly-valued colleague.”
