Blinn-Schulenburg offers Fall courses in customer service, computers, photography

Students can develop computer skills through free course series

August 26, 2016

The Blinn College-Schulenburg campus is offering a variety of Fall community education courses in customer service, computers and photography.

Classes begin in September with Customer Service I and II courses that teach students written, digital and conversational customer service skills. Each course costs $235. Customer Service I starts Tuesday, Sept. 6, and runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m. through Nov. 10.

Several courses will be offered as part of the basic computer series beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7. These free courses cover basic computer functions and provide an introduction to the Microsoft Office Suite, and can help with resume writing and searching for jobs online. The free courses meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6-8:30 p.m.

An online digital photography course also is available for $79. There will be a face-to-face orientation to prepare students for the online course on Monday, Sept. 26. The course lasts five weeks and ends on Oct. 31. Students enrolled in the course are eligible for the second annual Fall Photography Show in November.

Students interested in photography are invited to attend a Sept. 12 orientation session for Blinn’s Fall Adobe Photoshop online course. The 10-week, $129 course meets ends on Nov. 18. Both the online digital photography and Photoshop class are being offered for the first time in Schulenburg.
