Seminar will be hosted April 10 in College’s Student Center

March 26, 2014

The Blinn College Small Business Development Center is hosting a free one-day taxpayer business seminar from 2-4 p.m. April 10.

Michael Stegint, an enforcement officer for Texas’ State Comptroller’s Office, will guide students on how to collect and file sales tax, as well as how to properly keep records and other taxpayer responsibilities. Registration is available at www.blinn.edu/sbdc.

The SBDC at Blinn College is a business consulting and training center that is part of the University of Houston Small Business Development Center Network, which serves 32 counties in Southeast Texas. The center provides free one-on-one consulting and low-cost training seminars.

A report released in February found that the Blinn SBDC helped its clients create 10 new businesses and 68 new jobs, and obtain $4.6 million in loans last year.
