April 21, 2014

Before the curtain rises for the opening night of “Cyrano,” Blinn College students will present other works of art on the College’s Bryan campus Thursday.

An exhibit of student work ranging from photography, ceramics, digital art, 3D animation, painting to drawing will be available for public viewing in the Student Center beginning at 6 p.m., just before the Theatre Arts Program’s last play of the season debuts at 7:30 p.m. in the Barbara L. Pearson Banquet Room.

“Our students work really hard over the semester and this is our way of acknowledging that and helping them get their talent recognized,” said Tim Weaver, Visual and Performing Arts professor.

“The exhibit is a great way to celebrate art, our students and Blinn College.”

More than 4,000 students are enrolled in Blinn’s Division of Visual and Performing Arts, which offers 51 courses, including architectural design, interior design, drawing, painting, ceramics, digital art, photography, watercolor, music theory, music appreciation, voice study, the Select Choral Ensemble, acting, argumentation, professional speaking and introductory speech.
