Longtime College leader served as campus’ first director
Blinn College has named Joe Al Picone the interim director of its Sealy campus.
Picone was the campus’ first director when it opened in 2005. He recently announced his upcoming retirement after six years as executive director of the Blinn College Foundation.
A 1961 Blinn graduate, Picone has dedicated almost 40 years of service to Blinn, including 17 years as a member of the Board of Trustees and 16 years as dean of business services. A member of the Blinn College Hall of Honor, he continues to serve as the international director of Lion’s Club International, and in 2007 he received the organization’s highest honor, the Ambassador of Goodwill Award.
Picone replaces Jeri Dulaney, who submitted a letter of resignation this week. She had served as director of the Sealy campus since 2008. The College will immediately begin its search for a replacement.
Blinn – Sealy was recently recognized with the Chamber of Commerce’s Pinnacle Award as the organization that best promoted and supported Sealy and its businesses. It is the highest honor awarded by the Sealy Chamber of Commerce.
