Annual award will benefit a member of the Blinn College band
The Blinn College Foundation recently accepted a $15,000 gift from Keith and Elizabeth Twiggs to establish an endowed scholarship benefitting a member of the Blinn band.
The Twiggs family has long supported the College, with particular interest in the music program and the band. The scholarship will be awarded without regard to a student’s major or financial need.
“We are honored to award an annual scholarship in the name of Keith and Elizabeth Twiggs. Our band is one of the best in the state, and it is only getting better thanks to the generosity of donors like the Twiggs,” said Blinn College District President Harold Nolte.
“I am very proud of my friendship with the Twiggs family and their affection for Blinn College,” said Blinn Foundation Director Joe Al Picone. “I have known them since they moved to Brenham in 1974, and they have truly been a blessing to the College and our community.”
The Foundation supports programs and activities that enhance the quality of education for Blinn College students and expand the educational opportunities for the entire community. While raising funds is an important function, the Foundation also seeks to heighten community awareness of the mission and accomplishments of the college and to promote excellence in education.
