Blinn appoints Schulenburg ISD Superintendent Lisa Meysembourg to advisory committee

Committee aids College in identifying the community’s educational needs

Blinn College has appointed Schulenburg Independent School District Superintendent Lisa F. Meysembourg to its Schulenburg campus advisory council and re-appointed Chris Proske and Chris Hooper.

The committee represents the citizens served by the College’s Schulenburg campus, providing input to the Board of Trustees and College administration about the educational needs of the community and the methods, procedures and programs that best meet those needs.

Committee members are selected and appointed by the Board of Trustees for two-year terms and may be reappointed for three consecutive terms.

Meysembourg was named Schulenburg ISD superintendent in July after serving three years as principal of Schulenburg Elementary School and seven as principal of Weimar Elementary School.

While at Schulenburg Elementary, she served as federal programs director, interim director of the Fayette Gonzales Special Education Cooperative and assistant superintendent.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and her Master of Education from the University of Houston – Victoria.

Meysembourg is director of Schulenburg Lions Club and serves on the board of Parents as Teachers. She is an active member of the Schulenburg American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Weimar Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Kappa Delta Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators, Texas Council of Women School Executives, Association of Texas Professional Educators, Texas Association of School Administrators and Texas Association of School Boards.

Hooper, the advisory committee secretary, is a representative at Edward Jones. Proske is co-owner of Schulenburg Printing and Office Supplies, Inc.

The advisory committee also includes President Dudley Piland, Vice President Dan Taber, Tami Walker and Heather Eilers.

Blinn – Schulenburg offers a variety of academic transfer, workforce training and continuing education classes to fit the needs of any student.
