‘A gift of a lifetime’

Blinn College recognizes donors who established 11 new endowed scholarships in 2012

Blinn College recognized the donors who established 11 new endowed scholarships totaling almost $200,000 within the last year Saturday at the College’s Brenham campus.
To date, the Blinn College Foundation has established 204 Blinn scholarships totaling $13.5 million.

“What a difference you have made in the lives of many of our Blinn College students,” Blinn College Foundation Director Joe Al Picone told the donors. “A student scholarship is a gift of a lifetime.”

The 11 endowed scholarships established this year were:

  • The Auggie Darr Babbitt PTA Scholarship
  • The Graham Masonic Lodge Endowed Scholarship
  • The Otto Q. Lehrmann Memorial Scholarship
  • The Lone Star Scholarship
  • The Robert A. and Emilie L. Schaefer Memorial Scholarship
  • The Dr. C.W. Schoenvogel Scholarship
  • The Ozell Henderson Sharp Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship
  • The Lonnie Henry Stern Scholarship
  • The Linda Tiemann Scholarship
  • The Ronna & Lon Tiemann Scholarship
  • The Woodson Lumber Company Technical Education Scholarship

Established in 2000, the Blinn College Foundation, Inc. supports programs and activities that enhance the quality of education for Blinn College students and expand the educational opportunities for the entire community. While raising funds is an important function, Blinn College Foundation also seeks to heighten community awareness of the mission and accomplishments of the college and to promote excellence in education.
