Blinn College will host a recital by the Jessen Wind Quintet on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. in the College’s newly expanded J. Hal and Allyne Machat Music Facility on the Brenham campus. The recital is free and open to the public.
The Jessen Wind Quintet consists of graduate students from The University of Texas, including Blinn’s horn instructor Felipe Vera.
Completed this Fall, the $1.5M J. Hal and Allyne Machat Music Facility was a major renovation project, funded in part by $300K in donations from longtime Blinn supporters and alumni J. Hal and Allyne Machat. The expanded and remodeled band hall adds 9,515 square feet of classrooms, labs, additional rehearsal halls, new practice rooms and additional storage space. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Sept. 28 at 10 a.m.
The public is invited to come out and enjoy this talented ensemble and take a tour of the completed music facility after the performance.
