Ten members of the Blinn College choral program on the Brenham campus were named to the Texas Two-Year College Choral Directors Association All-State Choir.

They are sopranos Julia Williams of Carthage and Nikole Martine of Del Rio; altos Tabitha Lamphear of College Station, Ashia Miles of Houston, T’Auna Winters of Brenham, and Lauren Yost of Waller; tenor Kelly Connaughton of Houston; and basses Adrian Prieto of Bellville and Shaun Taylor of New Caney. Soprano Ellen Eberhardt of Brenham was named as an official alternate.

The all-state choir performed Feb. 12 at the choral directors association meeting in San Antonio.

The Blinn choral program is under the direction of Jennifer Wise, assisted by Elizabeth Shipsey. The program is made up of four choirs – Camerata Chamber Choir, Musical Theater Ensemble, Choral Union and the Women’s Chorus – and involves more than 35 students each semester that perform regularly thorough the semester.
