Tax and financial aid assistance to be available at Blinn College in February

Financial Aid Fridays in February at Blinn College’s Bryan Campus will provide free tax help to students, potential students, and their families as they prepare to file for financial aid for the summer and fall semesters. A tax specialist will assist with tax returns needed when filing the Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA). Participants should bring W-2 forms and other relevant tax information.

The tax and financial aid assistance will be available 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Feb. 12, 19, and 26 at the University Transfer Center next to the Library Building on the Bryan Campus at Villa Maria Road and E. 29th Street. To schedule an appointment, call (979) 209-7446. Walk-ins are welcome.

The filing deadline for financial aid for summer is April 23. Blinn College has not set the FAFSA filing deadline for fall. Typically, it is early June.

The FAFSA requires a Social Security number, driver’s license, W-2 and other records of earned income, the 2009 Federal Income Tax Return for student, spouse, and parents (if a dependent), veterans benefits report, child support records, worker’s compensation, current bank statements, business and investment records, and alien registration or resident card if not a U.S. citizen. An online application and additional information is available at
