Blinn College lecture by bestselling author to examine aftermath of fictitious terrorist attack
Blinn College’s Distinguished Lecture Series continues on February 18th on the Bryan campus with Dr. William Forstchen discussing his New York Times bestselling novel “One Second After.” The book, released in March 2009, examines the collapse of social order in a small college town in the wake of an attack on the United States with electro-magnetic pulse weapons.
During his talk at Blinn, Dr. Forstchen will explore the ethical, historical, environmental, and technological dimensions of such a phenomenon. The book is currently in development as a feature film by Warner Bros.
Dr. Forstchen, a history professor at Montreat College (NC), has specializations in military history and the history of technology, and is the author/co-author of the bestselling novels “Gettysburg” and “Pearl Harbor.”
The lecture, at noon in the Student Center banquet room, is free and open to the public. The lecture is sponsored by the Blinn College Divisions of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.
