You must be the student's biological or adoptive parent or the student's stepparent.
You must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non citizen.
You must have an acceptable credit history. A credit check will be performed during the application process.
Student must be meeting SAP requirements.
To be considered for a Federal Direct Parent Loan (PLUS) the student’s parents must complete all of the steps listed below.
Step One: Complete the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling at www.StudentLoans.gov.

If the Parent is approved, proceed to step two below. Blinn College will certify the loan and will notify the student through a new award letter. The parent may reduce the loan amount by contacting the Financial Aid Office. The loan funds will be applied to the students account. After all Blinn expenses have been paid on a student’s account any remaining balance will be refunded as directed in step two below.
If the Parent is denied, skip to step 3.
Step Two: Complete a Federal Direct PLUS Loan Request and Authorization Form located at http://www.blinn.edu/finaid/forms.htm (Funds will not be released until this form is completed and returned to our office)
Step Three: For Parents denied a PLUS Loan Only
Complete and return an Additional Unsubsidized Request Form (AUSB) located at http://www.blinn.edu/finaid/forms.htm.
