Douglas R. Borchardt, search committee chair, Board of Trustees member
I am happy to report that the search for Blinn’s 14th president is progressing on schedule.
Since my last update, the presiden¬tial search committee met on June 29 and implemented a specific evaluation and ranking process that will guide us as we analyze the qualifications that have been submitted by candidates.
As of now, several dozen applicants have formally applied for the position, which closed July 29.
Immediately after that, the search committee began focusing on the entries that arrived just before the position closed.
Each candidate will receive a thorough evaluation based on the profile of traits we are seeking and the scoring of the applicant’s resume.
Working with our search firm, Gold Hill Associates, the committee will meet again in early August and conduct a round of interviews with candidates that we want to know more about. Depending on the amount of time needed to accomplish this most important task, we will submit a list of 3-5 candidates to the Board of Trustees by the August or September Board meeting. We will also request that the board bring these candidates to the Brenham and Bryan campuses for face to face interviews and also allow for the faculty, staff and community to interact with the candidates.
Should you have input or suggestions about the presidential search, please e-mail Becky Krebs (firstname.lastname@example.org). On behalf of the search committee and the board of trustees, I again thank you for your continued support and dedication to this most important process.
