Is student housing available?

Yes, the Blinn-Brenham Campus is offering on-campus housing. If you are interested in student housing for an upcoming semester, please contact the Housing Department.

How is Blinn ensuring social distancing within student housing?

Advanced cleaning protocols and social distancing guidelines are in effect in all student housing facilities and students living in the residence halls are prohibited from hosting visitors. Common seating and gathering locations within the residence halls are closed and occupancy limitations are in place in common restrooms and laundry room spaces. Outdoor seating is open but social distancing guidelines apply.

Should I wear a face mask or covering on campus?

Blinn requires all individuals on campus - including employees, students, visitors, and contractors - to wear face masks or face coverings when in the presence of others. Please note that face masks are not a substitute for proper social distancing.

Am I required to wear a face covering while in my on-campus room or apartment?

Face coverings are not required when students are in their personal on-campus residence hall rooms/suites or apartments (including private and suite-style bathrooms). Blinn encourages its campus residents to discuss their expectations regarding face coverings at the start of the semester. If one of you should develop COVID-19 symptoms, face coverings should be worn until a healthcare professional can be consulted.

Do I need to wear a face covering in the hallways and other areas of my residence hall?

Face coverings are required while in common areas and community bathrooms except while showering. Residents should perform activities that require touching of the face, such as brushing your teeth or washing your face) at the sinks in their rooms instead of in the community bathrooms.

What happens if a student in campus housing tests positive for COVID-19?

Residence hall students who test positive for COVID-19 and are unable to relocate to their permanent residence will be moved to a separate facility the College has established specifically designated for self-isolation. Students requiring medical care will be treated as appropriate by medical professionals.

Should COVID-19 require Blinn to close campus housing, the College will not provide housing or meal plan refunds.

When do the residence halls close for the Spring 2021 semester?

Campus residence halls and apartments will close on Thursday, May 13, at 5:30 p.m. for the Spring semester. Students may begin to check out of their residence halls and apartments starting May 10; simply put your key in the envelope provided by your Hall Director, and drop off the envelope in the box near his or her office in your building. For the residents living in BCPA, take your envelope over to the Club House where the RHD offices are located.

How do I prepare my room for check out?

Completely pack your room and make sure that the garbage has been taken to the dumpster outside of your building. Any trash left in the room or damages may result in charges to your student account.
