Advising Day Frequently Asked Questions

All new students should attend Advising Day. Our goal is to provide information and resources that allow students to make informed and appropriate academic plans and healthy social choices. During Advising Day, students will register for their classes and learn about the many organizations and resources Blinn College offers.
Students and parents/guardians must pre-register for New Student Orientation and pay in full to be accepted for any session. We do not take walk-ins. Advising Day registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis; complete the admissions process early so you can register as soon as possible. Space is limited so if your preferred date is closed when you try to register, choose the next best date.

No, students who have been accepted to the Blinn TEAM/Engineering Academy at Blinn–Bryan will be advised and register for both their Texas A&M and Blinn College classes at their scheduled TAMU NSC. 

Advising Day is $25 per student, and $10 for an additional family member/guest (limit 2 guests). Because of limited space, we are unable to allow more than two guest per student. You must register each guest. This fee includes a meal, entertainment and all program materials. VISA cards are not accepted.

Once you have finished everything on this checklist you may go on your MyBlinn account and sign up for Advising Day. Students must complete the admissions process to attend. If you have not submitted all admissions requirements, you will not be able to attend be advised, or get registered.
At Advising Day you will speak with the College's academic advisors, Business, and Financial Aid offices and learn about the many resources and opportunities available to you at Blinn.
Refunds will not be provided for cancellations. If you wish to change your Advising Day session, there is no need to re-submit a new registration. To change or cancel your Advising Day session date for any reason, send an email to bryanNSO@blinn.edu at least 48 hours prior to the event. Please be aware that space is limited and attendance will be determined based on order of registration and payment; therefore, we cannot guarantee availability for rescheduling.
You may bring up to two family member/guests to orientation. Each guest is $10. See our Information Guide for parents/guests.
Yes! You need to have Online New Student Orientation completed prior to attending Advising Day and/or prior to being advised by an academic advisor.
Log-in to your myBLINN account and click on Personal Information. You will be asked to re-enter your Blinn ID and password before entering the online system. Make sure you use your entire Blinn ID number (ex. B00111112).
