Liberal Arts

Program Description:  The Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts completes the course of study for the first two years and provides flexibility for students to select an area of concentration* of 12 hours from courses in one area or in a variety of areas, including anthropology, English, foreign language, geography, history, philosophy, psychology, and sociology. A degree in liberal arts provides the flexibility for students to specialize in a program of study or to explore a variety of interests in different programs.

Use this Program Map as an advising guide to choose courses with your advisor and track progress toward milestones and completion of the degree program. The map provides students a suggested course sequence to timely program completion.

Marketable Skills

Transfer Information

An AA in Liberal Arts degree provides a pathway to transfer to a four-year college or university where students can earn a baccalaureate degree. Students are strongly encouraged to select a transfer destination by the time they have completed 30 semester credit hours. Students should consult with their chosen transfer institution regarding recommended courses that will transfer and be applied to their baccalaureate degree program.
