Blinn’s McDonald earns top honors in Region XIV
Blinn College’s Kahlil McDonald was named to the All-Conference and All-Region First Teams. McDonald, a 6’4” guard from Brooklyn, NY, averaged 23.7 points per game in his sophomore season. He led the conference in three-point field goals percentage making 83 of 183 shots for 45.4 percent. McDonald was also 79.1 percent from the free throw line.
The Buccaneers finished 14-16 overall, 5-14 in Region XIV South, under first-year head coach Tra Arnold. Arnold took over the program two weeks before the fall semester after the abrupt resignation of Steve Spurlin for whom Arnold had been an assistant.

Blinn College guard Kahlil McDonald was named NJCAA Pre-Season First Team All-American. The 6’4” sophomore from Brooklyn, NY, averaged 22 points per game last season.

Blinn freshman named to All-Region, All-American teams
The NJCAA selected Blinn College guard Kahlil McDonald a Third Team All-American. The 6’4” freshman from Brooklyn, NY, also made the All-Region XIV First Team. McDonald led the region in scoring with 21.4 points per game during the regular season. He scored 48 points in Blinn’s two games at the regional tournament. The Buccaneers finished with a 23-9 record.
