Ms. Kimberly Gallego was born and raised in Aggieland with the last name Austin. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Health. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Gallego worked as an emergency room technician at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. It was her studies and ER experience that cultivated an intrigue in the human body that would eventually carry over into her yoga career. After flying around the world as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines, she decided to pursue a higher education after the events of September 11th. Kimberly received a Master of Arts in Foreign Language Education from the University of Texas and it was here in Austin where her yoga journey began.
In 2002, Kimberly walked into her first Bikram yoga class and became instantly hooked. After practicing for seven years, Ms. Gallego attended the 200 hour training with The Living Yoga Program in Austin, Texas. Her dream of spreading the love of hot yoga in the Bryan/College Station area came into fruition in October 2009 as she joined forces to open College Station Yoga. She is currently the founder and main instructor of Prana Yoga which currently holds classes in downtown Bryan and at Veteran’s Park during the spring/summer. Ms. Gallego’s classes are hatha/ vinyasa based with special emphasis on anatomical alignment and health benefits of asanas.
Ms. Gallego enjoys spending time with her two children, Maile and Cristiano. On her free time, you will often find her traveling or venturing off to Austin for yoga excursions, stand up paddle boarding, and enjoying live music.
